"Art is magic... But how is it magic? In its metaphysical development? Or does some final transformation culminate in a magic reality? In truth, the latter is impossible without the former. If creation is not magic, the outcome cannot be magic."
~Hans Hofmann (1880–1966)
Hello and welcome to my website. I am a vintage inspired fine art photographer and photographic artist, based in Melbourne, Australia - although my heart and soul belong to the beautiful Macedon Ranges.
I shoot Sony, Lensbaby, and Hipstamatic. I also have the FujiFilm Instax Mini 90 and SQ6, which are both super cute. Long exposure, wide angle, heritage architecture, landscape, seascape, street, close up, still life - you'll find a bit of everything in my portfolio. I totally heart preloved, pastels, vintage, miniatures. When I'm not shooting, you will likely find me poking around in old wares/antique stores and markets, always on the hunt for anything that looks like it might make a great photo prop. I also work a lot with texture overlays, transforming photographs into images that have an olde worlde, 'painterly' feel.
My love of photography is matched only by a long time passion for all things metaphysical, and a fascination with science and quantum physics. It has been the foundation of my life for many years. There is no separating the metaphysics from the photography, this I have come to realise. The one is intrinsically bound to the other. As William Shakespeare so famously wrote, "There are more things in Heaven and Earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy." And, it is so. I could easily write a book on how deeply entwined the two are, and just how significantly non-physical forces have influenced my photography over the years. It's been impossible to ignore. Perhaps one day I will write that book.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy your visit. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have an questions, or just wanna say hi. I'd love to hear from you. And btw, in case you were wondering - yes, my favourite colour is pink. :)
Love & Light,
