"Art is magic... But how is it magic? In its metaphysical development? Or does some final transformation culminate in a magic reality? In truth, the latter is impossible without the former. If creation is not magic, the outcome cannot be magic."

~Hans Hofmann (1880–1966)

Hello and welcome to my new home on the internet. As you can see, it's still very much a work in progress. I decided that 2018 would be the year when I push the reset button on my photography, and that meant deleting a lot of my old online presence. It also meant it was time to let go of my old website, and create a brand new one. And so I did. I've got lots of plans for it, which I'm very excited about.

Photography has been a passion for many years, but in 2018, Tracy Edgar Fine Art Fotografie finally became official. There are lots of changes on the horizon, so stay tuned.

I'm a vintage inspired fine art photographer and photographic artist, based in Melbourne, Australia. For now, anyway. My dream - and my intention - is to relocate to the beautiful Macedon Ranges. And that is in the works. My soul has been pointing me in this direction for a long time. It's where I feel most at home, where I belong. And I cannot wait for it to be so.

I shoot Lensbaby, and Hipstamatic. I also have a FujiFilm Instax Mini 90, which is super cute. I love long exposure, wide angle, heritage architecture, and still life photography. I shoot all manner of things - seascapes, landscapes, and photo props. I totally heart preloved, pastels, vintage, miniatures. I spend a lot of time poking around in old wares/antique stores and markets, always on the hunt for new (old!) props. I've accumulated quite a collection. Stay tuned for my mini artworks coming soon. I also work a lot with texture overlays, transforming photographs into images that have an old world, 'painterly' feel.

My love of photography is matched only by a long time passion for all things metaphysical, and a fascination with science and quantum physics. It has been the foundation of my life for many years. There is no separating the metaphysics from the photography, this I have come to realise. The one is intrinsically bound to the other. As William Shakespeare so famously wrote, "There are more things in Heaven and Earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy." And, it is so. I could easily write a book on how deeply entwined the two are, and just how significantly non-physical forces have influenced my photography, over the years. It's been impossible to ignore. Perhaps one day I will write that book.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy your visit. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have an questions, or just wanna say hi. I'd love to hear from you. And btw, in case you were wondering - yes, my favourite colour is pink. :)

Love & Light,
